THE ESTATE DAIRY: WHAT IS IT?

This is ‘luxury’ milk. But before you say that milk should never be a luxury, hear us out. The Estate Dairy was set up on the premise that baristas put so much time into finding the perfect coffee and brewing it to exacting standards – and then throw in any old milk.

If you’re looking for the very best coffee out there, it doesn’t really make sense. So founders Joe Towers and Shaun Young set out to create the perfect milk for coffee.

There’s a huge amount of science behind the milk they produce which is why they demand a higher price for their product and London-based baristas – and coffee drinkers – are happy to pay it.

And, for all those with a sweet tooth, Estate has partnered with Pump Street Chocolate to offer fresh chocolate milk, which is unbelievably irresistible – and Estate Dairy now offers home delivery in London, too, so you can get the freshest, best-tasting milk delivered right to your doorstep.

THE ESTATE DAIRY: IS IT SUSTAINABLE?

Estate’s milk is a traceable dairy product. Its herd is farmed sustainably in Somerset, with a close focus on nutrition as this has such an effect on the flavour of the milk.

The farms that are home to the cows used to make Estate Dairy’s milk are committed to regenerative practises, operating an intensive free-range, organic farming system, and work to reduce their impact on the environment, and the milk arrives in reusable glass bottles to reduce plastic.

THE ESTATE DAIRY: WHO MAKES IT?

A herd of 250 Guernsey cows, and a herd of 60 Jersey cows. Milk from these cows is much higher protein and fat than Friesians, both of which are important when it comes to making milk for coffee – for holding the latte art and so on.

Estate Dairy milk also isn’t homogenised, unlike most supermarket milk, so the fat rises to the top – and gives a better-tasting product. And the dairy now even delivers direct to your door.
