Storm Flowers Garden: What is it?

Storm Flowers Garden is a wonderful online destination where you can find everything you need for your garden. Constantly on the lookout for unique finds, they take pride in knowing the stories behind each product they offer, which range from practical plant pots to artisanal soap for the dedicated gardener’s hands.

They say: “We started ‘Garden‘ during the pandemic as offices closed and, like many others, we turned to our patio garden for comfort. We looked for gardening products made in the UK, but struggled to find them, and so Storm Flowers Garden was born.”

Their curated range is made up of both their own designs made by small UK producers and craftspeople they commission, alongside beautiful tools and garden accessories sourced from other small producers around the UK.

Storm Flowers Garden’s style is characterised by a fusion of practicality and aesthetics, with an emphasis on durability and craftsmanship. Each item in their collection is carefully selected and tested by their own team, ensuring both functionality and longevity.

Recognising their unique products make excellent gifts, and the joy of gift-giving, they ensure their offerings are sustainably made, not mass-produced, and designed to stand the test of time.

Storm Flowers Garden: How Sustainable is it?

From supporting artisans to implementing eco-friendly practices, Storm Flowers Garden demonstrates a holistic approach to sustainability.

They proudly support independent makers and craftspeople across the UK to produce their diverse range of products. Each item is crafted with care and expertise, reflecting a commitment to quality and sustainability.

While primarily sourcing from small-scale UK artisans and craftsmen, their founder Joao is Brazilian, so they also stock hammocks and handmade sandals from Brazil.

They are part of MSDUK – the UK’s leading supplier diversity organisation that certifies businesses that are 51% or more owned, managed and controlled by ethnic minorities.

All workers directly employed are paid London Living Wage or above and receive additional benefits including £250 towards training courses each year, and two paid-volunteer days per year.

Storm Flowers Garden actively measures their environmental impact and seeks ways to reduce it. Having joined initiatives like Blue Patch’s LET’S DO NET ZER0 program, they are learning how to collect data on energy usage and emissions to set targets for carbon reduction.

Their recyclable packaging is made with 100% plastic-free materials and biodegradable packing chips made from corn starch. A nice touch is that each order is sent with a plantable postcard with their company details, which is printed in London on seeded paper produced in the UK.

They are passionate about their local community in Soho, London, and support Soho Parish School, St Anne’s Church, and are members of The Soho Society and The Soho Business Alliance.
